Emilie L., Area Coach - Franchise Org. Cantina Hospitality

Emilie began her journey with Taco Bell at 16 years old, joining as a Team Member for Franchise Org. Cantina Hospitality while balancing the demands of high school and parenting. What started as a job that offered flexibility soon became something more, as the support she found allowed her to grow both personally and professionally!

“Shortly after graduating I was promoted to Shift Lead. I think that was the point that I realized this was what I wanted to do for my career. So, I decided to continue asking for feedback and push myself to become better than I was the day before. One role led to the next, and I went from Assistant General Manager to General Manager. I always thought the goal for me was to become a General Manager until I became comfortable in the role and realized I could make an even bigger impact on those around me. So, I set my sights on becoming an Area Coach.”

That idea became a turning point. She sought mentorship, supported her Area Coach, contributed to other locations, attended theLeaptraining at the Taco Bell Corp. Restaurant Support Center, and committed to learning through Taco Bell’s education benefit, Tacos & Tuition (available for company-owned restaurants and select franchises), powered by InStride.

“I knew I wanted to utilize Tacos & Tuition as soon as I found out about the program. I was always looking for ways to better myself and grow my knowledge, including moments like presenting in front of large groups. So, I took advantage of the presentation course on Tacos & Tuition and learned tools and skills that would help me in the Area Coach role. I was appreciative that the courses weren’t just videos to scroll through; there were actual assignments and conversations with other students. I know that without the courses, I wouldn’t have had such an easy time calming my nerves and getting the message across to my audience when presenting.”

That growth didn’t stay in the classroom; it carried directly into her next step.

“As of April 2026, I have achieved my goal of becoming an Area Coach with Cantina Hospitality.”

What once felt like a long-term goal had become reality, driven by her grit and determination.

For those looking to grow and take the next step in their careers, Emilie offers this advice:

“Stay committed to your goals and take advantage of education benefits like Tacos & Tuition. There are so many courses to choose from, there will be something to learn for everyone!”

And for Emilie, that commitment continues to shape not only her own journey, but the growth of those she leads.
